The Insurance Industry Doesn't Really Have a Category for What I Do

Smiling bald man in glasses and a suit stands before a white columned house under a blue sky.
"I spent 25 years inside the machine.  Now I work for the person paying the premium."

I spent 25 years owning an insurance brokerage. Last year, I sold it and started something the insurance world does not quite have a category for.

I am an insurance consultant. I do not sell insurance. I do not earn commissions, bonuses, or override payments from any insurer. Nobody pays me to place your business anywhere. So when I tell you something about your coverage, there is exactly one person I am working for: you.

The Problem With How Insurance Is Purchased

Here is how the system works...

Your broker is compensated by the insurance company, with the commission built into your premium. A good broker works hard for you. I was one for 25 years, and I know plenty of excellent brokers. But the structure is what it is. The people advising you on what to buy are compensated by the companies selling it. For almost every other major financial decision in your life, independent advice is available. Your lawyer does not take a cut from the other side. Your accountant does not earn a commission on the strategies they recommend. Insurance buyers have rarely had that option. Now they do.

What Independence Changes

When nobody pays me to sell you something, a few things become possible.

  • I can tell you that you are over-insured, and it costs me nothing to say it.

  • I can tell you your broker did an excellent job and mean it.

  • I can review a denied claim without worrying about which insurer relationship it affects.

  • I can sit on your side of the table at renewal, not the industry's.

That is the whole idea behind Jasper Private Insurance Consultants: advice with no product attached.

What I Do

Independent Policy Reviews

For individuals, families, businesses, high-net-worth clients, and complex risks.

Pre-Renewal Gap Analysis

Finding the holes before a claim finds them.

Claims Advocacy

Helping with denied claims, mishandled claims, and policy wording that nobody reads until it

matters.

Course-of-Construction and Renovation Reviews

For builders and homeowners undertaking major projects.

Condominium and Strata Insurance Reviews

Independent assessments of both corporate and unit-owner coverage.

UNsurance

My watch-only service, where I monitor your insurance program and step in when something goes

wrong.

Insurance Controller

A fully outsourced insurance function where I become your single point of contact and oversee

your entire insurance program.

Who This Is For

If your insurance is simple, you probably do not need me.

But if any of this sounds familiar, we should talk.

  • You own significant assets and are not sure your coverage has kept up.

  • You are building, renovating, or running a business with moving parts.

  • You have had a claim denied or managed badly.

  • Your insurance program grew by accretion: a policy here, a renewal there, and nobody has reviewed the whole picture in years.

  • You want a genuinely independent second opinion before making an important insurance decision.

How It Works

Everything is fee-based, and the fees are published on the site.

There is nothing hidden in premiums. No commissions. No surprises.

It starts with a complimentary 30-minute assessment. If I cannot add value, I will tell you that too.

Independence cuts both ways.
